[SL-devel] [SL-Devel] Core-Beta Interest

I would like to get a show of hands from the Mailing List of those that can
be on a Core-Beta team.

Proposal:

Core-Beta would have access to the .iso file before it went to public. This
is for quality control, this isn't so you can just get the .iso file before
any one else and tease them about it.

----You will need to get the .iso/.xdeltas
----You will need to test
----You will report back to the ML of any problems/issues

This all needs to be done in a very tight timely manner. You can't take a
week to get the .iso/.xdeltas than take another week to burn a disk and than
take another week to get it installed. Once released you should have a disk
burnt within a day and testing. We can't hold up releases and we need
active people for this.

We need to set a number of days the testing period will run.

We need to get a list of people who can help with this.

We need people to report issues and get other people to confirm it. The
more communication the better. Joost and I do this all the time. He will
send me a message asking to confirm an issue and I do the same. We also
test against Entropy packages and Overlay/Portage packages to make sure it's
not a problem with either or.

We need people to watch the Beta Testing Forum to report Common
Issues/Confirm Issues and report any Fixes the community has found.

We have means to communicate with everyone, we just need people doing it.

The goal is to reach quality releases so when final comes out we don't have
to issue fixes immediately.

If you are interested, please hollar here now so we can start working
towards establishment. Just don't reply back I'm interested. Tell us a
little bit about who you are. I don't need family history to the 17th
Century or anything. If your on the forum or irc - what is your nick? how
long been using Sabayon? any programing/coding skills? Any
graphic/creativity artwork abilities? Things like that.

I myself have been pretty much with RR/Sabayon since winter of 2005. I did
use the old RR disks, still got some, but it wasn't my primary desktop.
Chris ( our one time lead) got me more involved. I can't code to safe my
life. I do have a degree in computer/networking which I don't even use as I
am in Emergency Medical Services. I've started using Gentoo in 2004. I
like to work with community - tips, howtos, documentation, testing,
reporting, forum, wiki, news and finding talented people to join Sabayon
team. It's a lot of fun hanging out and watching Sabayon grow, but it's had
it's frustrations too.

See that wasn't so hard.
