[sabayon-dev] almost a full month and kernel.org is still down

First of all it is called linux from scratch and second of all no newbie is going to be looking into that since you have to be really experienced in order to attempt to build a usable system with the instructions from LFS. Lastly I do not understand the point that you are making about the reasons why kernel.org is still down. What kind of a point they are making...to trust...who?! Either you are a very confused person or you have no idea what you are writing about because much of what you wrote makes no sense what so ever.

yea, for an old linux user this is not a big deal, but for a linux newbie is a little scary ... from where to download linux v3.0 tarball for linux for scratch!? where is official vanilla linux tarball!? huh!? until you find linus personal git repository you need some extra learnings steps ... i think this, kernel.org still down after a full month, is not by accident but by purpose, to show to all crackers and script kiddies and so on that linux do not need an official stamp from anybody, that is only a network of trust between real persons ... you trust linus git branch, his steps to secure his personal kernel sources then you use that git repository and so on ... you need a gentoo kernel flavor, then use and you trust gentoo git branch which can be on another continent! from a windows world perspective, a corporate world obsessed by public image and market value of trademarks, this thing, kernel.org down and linux public image apparently in deep
shame and unable to recover but still nobody running in circles and screaming, is very strange!
and for a linux newbie is a cultural shock! to jump right on the git distributed version system, with no heads and hierarchy only a web of trust is a real perspective shift!
linux is free, but needed expertise to use this little beast
is a personal, time consuming, continuous accumulation of knowledge
and wasted time can not be rolled back no matter how much money you have
selling free software can not bring to you too much money,
but USING free software you can make a lot of money
like Google ... or IBM
your little help to free software development does not bring
to you any money but can help you use it more efficiently,
so you can make more money ... meanwhile, other users of
that little free software program, using your contribution
can make more money! nobody loses anything, all those who know
how to use a free software program, in continuous evolution, wins
